Project Buyer – Manufacturing / Outsourcing
Baldock, Hertfordshire
£30,000 - £35,000 Plus Bonus, Pension
Our client is part of an international group of retail display consultants who, from beginning to end, deliver their customers business strategy directly into retail. Simply put they make brands come alive in retail on a global scale. They are now looking to recruit a Project Buyer to join their team.
This role would suit a buyer who has experience of working for FMCG clients and looking to develop their career with an innovative company offering fantastic scope for career progression.
You will take ultimate ownership of relevant key projects, covering all operational issues from design conception through to completion and delivery of the product. This role includes working closely with suppliers and international travel.
As the Project Buyer you will be part of a cross functional team, representing supply. You will be tasked with:
- Managing the progress of each projects
- Ensuring the best price and delivery
- Maintaining budgetary control of all projects
- Planning and facilitating work throughout
- Ensuring appropriate quality control/assurance is maintained
- Interacting with overseas liaison offices, suppliers, partners and inter-company divisions
To be considered for the role of Project Buyer, you must have previous experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment. Project management experience is also essential for this role.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with a high level of numeracy. You must also have an eye for detail, including a strict adherence to systems and procedures.
The following would be beneficial: CIPS membership, a degree (or equivalent) in Business or Finance and/or knowledge of the import/export industry, particularly in the Far Eastern supply market.
